Executive Vice President
Barney provides clients with specialized expertise in the areas of air service development, airport/airline business relations, and aviation infrastructure development.
His accomplishments at the Metropolitan Washington Airports, the Airports Council International, and the Air Transport Association form the basis for 20 years of successful consulting for public and private sector clients worldwide.
Barney is an expert at integrating global trends and perspectives with specific and varied project requirements. This expertise has enabled him to provide the benefits of his long-standing involvement in the international air transport sector to the unique requirements of clients, projects and initiatives.
Brendan brings to the InterVISTAS team a wide range of experience in managing, designing and analyzing economic research. He has been working in economic consultancy after graduating with a first-class degree from Newcastle University, and continued his studies with an MA in Economic Geography.
Brendan has a robust range of qualitative and quantitative research skills. He has used them to design and implement methodologies for numerous studies including economic impact assessments, strategic planning, business cases, cost benefit analyses, and feasibility studies.
Having worked in the transportation, energy, real estate and tourism sectors, Brendan recognises the importance of robust evidence-led decision making and strategic perspectives.

Senior Vice President, Planning
Valued by clients for his candid demeanor, Brian is passionate about assisting airport operators with their most challenging infrastructure planning issues. Brian’s primary experience includes airport master planning for diverse market sizes, with an emphasis on large hubs. He has served as a technical advisor on several airport transactions, including the privatization of Luis Munoz International Airport in Puerto Rico.
Brian enjoys working with clients and stakeholders to formulate solutions that enjoy consensus and which are founded upon operational efficiency, environmental prudence, and fiscal responsibility. Brian is a professional engineer with over 15 years of experience in planning for airports in North America and Europe.

Cathy is a senior executive with over 32 years of progressive experience with the Canadian Federal Government including regional and headquarters levels. She brings expertise in customs and immigration border management including passenger and commercial processing, security and enforcement, risk assessment, trade, and international relations. Cathy also brings significant experience in human resources and in the management of large operational and policy organizations including directing large projects to improve border services and to create organizational effectiveness and efficiency. She is a strong leader and is skilled in effective communication, stakeholder and client relations.
Cathy has a Masters in Public Administration from Dalhousie University.
Celina is involved in research and analysis for a wide range of economic, regulatory, and logistics projects for several government and private sector clients in Canada and the U.S.
She has served as the primary analyst in a number of economic impact studies, assessing the contribution of numerous airports, ports and tourism activity to the economy. She also provides support for various trade analyses, market leakage studies, literature reviews and other transportation studies, identifying key findings and insights.
She has experience working with several international trade databases and statistical applications. Celina holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of British Columbia.
Dedicated to turning information into knowledge, Christopher helps create solutions for clients by making sense out of a complicated world. As an Analyst, Christopher applies his skills in quantitative analysis to a variety of projects, with a specialty in econometric analysis and forecasting. He is passionate about the aviation and transportation industry, and is motivated by helping clients better understand the global and interconnected nature of their industry.
Christopher is currently completing a Master’s degree in Economics at the University of Victoria. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science, also from the University of Victoria.
Dan is an experienced airport master planner who specializes in ground transportation facility planning. He understands the relationships between the physical, operational, and financial needs of airports. Dan has worked at over 35 airports throughout the world., managing master plans in Brazil, Ecuador, Harrisburg, and Panama and assisted on many others. He has conducted a wide range of ground access studies including curbside and roadway planning; parking strategies, layouts, designs, and demand analysis; rental car facility planning; and traffic simulation.
Dan holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering (transportation) from the University of California, Berkeley and is fluent in Spanish.

Senior Vice President
Daniel is passionate about aviation and has nearly 25 years of airline commercial leadership experience. He has a proven track record of working across airlines, cultures, and governments to deliver transformational initiatives.
Daniel has managed one of the world’s largest airline Joint Ventures, led commercial negotiations, implemented new codeshare partnerships amongst other regulatory duties. He leads key areas of our business, including aviation market analyses for airlines, airports and governments as well as regulatory/policy responsibilites.
He holds a graduate degree in Transportation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and undergraduate degrees in Economics and Geography from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Dave Scurlock has joined InterVISTAS as a Senior Architect, and is based in Seattle. Dave brings three decades of experience designing environments. He has led design projects including residential, retail, and commercial with owners, operators, and developers throughout Asia, the Middle East, the E.U. and the U.S. As a creative leader, Dave has developed innovative and award winning designs for both national and international clients. His career and portfolio represent his strong belief that environments should embody inspiring, experiential, relevant spaces, and create meaning and memories for people.
With a passion for furthering the efficiency and sustainability of the transportation industry, David helps our airline and airport clients simplify complex quantitative information in order to make sound decisions. As a Senior Analyst, he has provided insight on a variety of data-related projects for airport authorities, start-up airlines and government agencies. His work in airline route forecasting, air service development and financial analysis has allowed clients to make tangible improvements to their organizations.
David holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance from the University of British Columbia, and brings work experience from the Vancouver Airport Authority, and Pacific Coastal Airlines.

Doris has worked with numerous clients in various industries to identify broad economic benefits. With 15 years of marketing and consulting experience at InterVISTAS, she manages the economic impact analysis practice.
Doris also works in several different areas including market research, air service development, economic analysis and market intelligence. She has been involved in and has project managed several integrative consulting projects that span across several different practice areas.
Doris has a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Marketing and Finance from the University of Manitoba.

Ellen joined InterVISTAS as a Vice President after completing a three-year term as a Special Assistant in the Preclearance Field Office with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, returning to the agency where she began her government career more than three decades ago. Prior to retiring in 2015, she served the Department of Homeland Security as Deputy Assistant Secretary (Transborder Security) from 2012-2015 and as Assistant General Counsel (Enforcement) from 2003-2012. Ms. McClain was the Deputy Associate Chief Counsel (Enforcement) for the U.S. Customs Service from 1985-2002 and Deputy Assistant General Counsel (Enforcement) at the Department of Treasury.
Ernest is passionate about working with microsimulation tools to analyze ground transportation issues. He brings expertise in traffic control, traffic engineering, and traffic management. He has participated in various research opportunities including air quality analysis resulting from traffic collisions and vehicular classification utilizing inductive signature and weigh-in-motion technologies. Prior to joining InterVISTAS, Ernest worked on many projects in the Bay Area, such as the new Transbay Terminal and Salesforce Tower in San Francisco.
Ernest holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Irvine.

Gavin focuses on solving challenges faced by airport operators in their parking and ground transportation facilities. His approach recognizes the inter-relationships between the physical, operational, and financial aspects of these airport facilities and their combined influence on the airline passenger experience and the operational and business needs of the airports and their tenants. Over the last 20 years he has applied this comprehensive approach at over 50 airports in North America, Europe, and Asia, including work for airport authorities and owners, private airport operators, and other stakeholders.

Since joining InterVISTAS in 2003, Geneva has been involved in a range of different projects, including air service development, route analysis, economic impact studies, air passenger market research, and intelligence reports.
She has extensive knowledge of top commercial aviation data sources, including airline schedules, passenger market data (E/D and O/D), airline ticket data, airport site statistics, and Canadian charter airline schedules.
Geneva is the coordinator and chief editor of InterVISTAS’ Aviation Intelligence Report.
She has a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with a Minor in Commerce from the University of British Columbia.

Ian is a transportation economist with more than fifteen years of experience helping clients by developing innovative solutions in forecasting, economics, and strategic planning.
Ian’s areas of specialization include demand forecasting, economic impact studies, policy analysis, econometric analysis, and risk analysis. He has worked on projects in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
Vice President, Administration & Corporate Services
Janice is responsible for Human Resources Management and Corporate Services for the InterVISTAS Consulting Group.
She has an extensive background in corporate administration and over 20 years of high level experience in human resources. She brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding to the complexities of a dynamic and growing international company. Janice directly manages or oversees all HRM functions and she has a broad range of corporate duties and responsibilities including Office Manager for the Vancouver office.
Janice’s pro-active approach and organizational skills make her a vital part of our team. Prior to InterVISTAS, Janice worked for the Vancouver Airport Authority.
Director, Economic Analysis and Policy
Jody is passionate about numbers and how they relate to the world around her. She helps clients understand and use numbers to improve their business performance in various segments of the transportation industry.
Jody works on a variety of projects including econometric analysis of transportation demand, forecasting, policy cost-benefit analysis, airport land and property valuation and economic analysis for transportation arbitration proceedings, among others.
Jody holds a Master of Maritime and Air Transport Management from the University of Antwerp, Belgium and a Bachelor of Science in Financial Mathematics and Economics from the University of Victoria, British Columbia.
With a strong passion for aviation and tourism, Jordan provides insight into his research and analysis. He is part of a team that helps clients translate data into actionable plans and strategies.
Jordan holds a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida and is currently working on a Master of Business Administration in Aviation from the same university. Jordan has a Private Pilot licence from one of the top flight schools in North America. He has achieved more than 200 hours of flying time.
Josh brings a strong passion and enthusiasm for aviation, problem solving, and client service to each of his projects. With a diverse background in airport operations, simulation modeling, terminal capacity analyses, airport ground access, and security screening, Josh assists clients with innovative and well-rounded solutions to their most complex problems. He has extensive experience working with airport operators and government regulators in the United States, Great Britain, and Brazil.

Kathryn offers a detail-oriented perspective on a variety of projects for the InterVISTAS team, including economic impact analysis and market intelligence. With a fascination for travel and aviation, she provides an enthusiastic and candid approach toward developing high-quality deliverables for clients.
Kathryn leverages her background in economic consulting and research to help clients identify and solve their most complex issues. Her previous experience includes work in international tax, natural resource management, and tourism. Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics as well as International Relations from the University of British Columbia.
Marcelo brings 15 years of experience in regulated industries, legal services and government, including 10 years in the aviation industry (Canada and Qatar).
He has advised on a wide array of aeropolitical and global regulatory issues (i.e., regional airspace disputes, fair competition, and state subsidies, and passenger protection), including contractual issues such as termination of air services, airline partnership agreements, and execution of supplier’s agreements. Marcelo’s integrated approach to global advocacy has led him to coordinate and deploy advocacy campaigns in Canada, India, Japan, and Australia, among others.
Marcelo holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from McGill’s Institute of Air and Space Law in Montreal, Canada. He also earned Juris Doctor (JD) and Civil Law (B.C.L.) degrees from McGill University’s Faculty of Law. He is fluent in French and Spanish (native speaker level).
Vice President, Network Design and Financial Planning
Marcus has an unyielding passion for designing sustainable, profitable route networks in the airline industry. He advises airline clients on network planning and optimization, aircraft scheduling, airport operations control, and strategic business planning.
Marcus has expertise with network design and fleet assigner software, delivering projects for passenger and cargo airline clients worldwide. He also assists airport clients in air service development. Marcus has worked in the Network Planning and Scheduling departments at Air Canada.
Marcus has a Master of Business Administration from the Rotman School of Management and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Toronto.

Vice President, Network Strategy
Maria has extensive experience identifying and analyzing new air service opportunities for airport and airline clients worldwide. She specializes in air traffic demand and revenue forecasting, air service development and airline route planning. Her expertise is in the quantification of passengers and revenue projections and the development of operating airline cost expectations for proposed route opportunities. Her detailed analysis and compelling business cases have been instrumental in creating numerous successful air service plans resulting in new airline service for many clients including the first transpacific and Middle Eastern route for two major U.S. hubs.
Maria holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Manager, Air Service and Destination Development
Mariel contributes to a variety of projects, including air service development and strategic reviews. She is a key contributor in linking Airline Strategies at Airports and Tourism Development and has been part of numerous task force efforts to bring needed air service into specific areas.
With a strong background in event management and planning and a desire for excellence, Mariel provides expert support on various projects. Her outstanding customer service skills provide a gateway to superior client relations and service.
Mariel studied at the University of Massachusetts Amherst Isenberg School of Management and received a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a concentration in Tourism, Convention, and Event Planning.

Mark Taylor brings to InterVISTAS his more than 20 years of experience in advancing transportation development initiatives through insights founded upon in-depth financial, economic, and operational analysis. He has worked with more than 60 U.S. airports alone, as well as dozens throughout the world. With InterVISTAS, Mark will be focusing on the delivery of expert consulting services in the fields of financial planning, airline traffic forecasting, e-commerce, business planning, and airport strategic planning.
Chief Economist & Chief Strategy Officer
Mike is considered one of the leading transportation economists in the world. He serves as an expert witness and advisor to governments, airlines, airports, ports, ferry operators, terminal operators and railways. Mike has done work throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Africa, and Europe. He is a frequent speaker at industry events and organization planning sessions.
Dr. Tretheway earned a PhD in economics from the University of Wisconsin and served for 14 years as Associate Professor of Transportation & Logistics at the University of British Columbia. He has taught at several universities and training institutes in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australasia.
Nelly is passionate about aviation and its behavioral whys and wherefores interaction with people.
Nelly is experienced in analyzing transaction data to quantify characteristics and identify trends in the operation of airport landside facilities. She supports a variety of airport planning projects with a quantitative and qualitative analysis-based approach. Prior to joining InterVISTAS in July 2018, Nelly received a Master of Engineering in Transportation, with an emphasis on Aviation from the University of California, Berkeley. Her native language is French but she also speaks English, Spanish and Ewe.
With a strong passion for aviation, Noel brings a high level of enthusiasm to his position as Project Analyst. He helps with a variety of projects for InterVISTAS with the goal of providing innovative and quality solutions for clients.
As a Private Pilot and recent Economics graduate, he brings a unique multi-disciplinary approach to his work. Noel holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in Business from the University of Victoria.

Omoh is passionate about aviation and has been involved in numerous Stakeholder, Government relations and policy advocacy engagements contributing to growth and development in the global aviation industry.
She is an International Airport Professional (IAP) accredited by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Airports Council Internationsl (ACI) demonstrating her expertise in airport operations, economics, marketing, business development, passenger experience, communication and stakeholder management.
She holds a Certificate in Sustainable Business Strategy from Harvard Business School, a Masters of Science in International Finance from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom and a Bachelors of Science in Economics from Covenant University, Nigeria.
Paul delivers solutions in customer satisfaction tracking research, customer experience assessments, performance benchmarking, stakeholder consultation and engagement exercises, workshop facilitation, strategic planning, and tourism development. Paul has completed projects in five continents for airports, tourism, and transportation organizations.
In addition to his consulting experience, Paul directed a number of Tourism British Columbia’s key worldwide marketing initiatives related to the 2010 Winter Olympics, and held senior positions in strategic planning, marketing and market research for Tourism Whistler, Forbes Travel International, and Vancouver Airport Authority. Paul has both a Master and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Geography.

He has successfully delivered strategic plans for governments, destinations, non-profit organizations, airports, ports, and hotels in North America and the Caribbean. Throughout his career Peter has helped airport operators improve their roadways, curbsides, parking facilities, and commercial vehicle operations. He offers creative solutions based upon his extensive knowledge and practical experience, gained while assisting more than 50 major airports in North America and overseas. His solutions focus on improving customer service, operations, and revenues. In addition to his work for airports, he has authored Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) guidebooks on roadways, parking, commercial vehicles, and the use of transit at airports which are considered industry standards.
Peter, who is a licensed professional engineer with over 30 years of experience, holds a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Connecticut.

Executive Consultant, Transportation & Logistics Studies
Rob provides innovative solutions in the areas of transportation policy, cargo economics and marketing, foreign trade zone development, and cargo gateway development. With experience in air, rail, and marine, Rob particularly enjoys the challenge of improving the operating environment and uncovering new revenue opportunities for clients.
Rob previously was senior policy advisor for the governments of Alberta and Manitoba and served as Director, International and Regulatory Affairs, for Winnport, a Canadian air cargo carrier.
He has a Master of Science in Transportation and Logistics from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from Queen’s University.
As a Senior Consultant for airports at InterVISTAS, Roeland make use of his analytical skills and understanding of airport operations to provide valuable insights for consultancy services turning (big) data and market insights into air traffic forecasts, design parameters and advice on operations and organzation, in addition to finding (new) solutions.
Roeland’s strong skills in using analytical tools allow him to perform airport specific analyses, and present the data and conclusions in a clear and comprehensive manner. Solomon is a multidisciplinary expert on transportation policies, facilities, and innovations. He is dedicated to helping clients improve processes for goods and passengers. From re-engineering flows of people and goods through a journey to newer ways of navigating through a risk-managed environment, Solomon has helped to implement solutions for a range of private/public sector clients.
He is a former board member of Airports Consultants Council and sits on the board of the Canadian/American Border Trade Alliance. As well, he is active on several committees for Airports Council International and is supporting the activities of the Beyond Preclearance Coalition.
Solomon has a Master of Science in Planning from the University of Toronto.
Maritime & Aviation Senior Manager
Based on a data-driven approach and experience with global cargo hubs, Soufiane Daher focuses on solving strategic problems and producing actionable advice. He has performed over 25 major projects worldwide, for airports, airlines, governments, handlers and other aviation companies. In his previous role as a cargo consultant at Seabury Consulting, he was able to help various aviation companies shape their strategies, better understand their markets and improve their financial and operational performance.
The air cargo market is experiencing intense shifts as a result of the latest market conditions. Opportunities enabled by new technologies will help air cargo generate more efficiency, while new business models continue to re-invent the industry. Soufiane’s goal is to help clients adapt to these trends and plan for the future.
Senior Manager, Sustainability and Process Planning
Stanley is a Senior Manager with InterVISTAS specializing in process flows, operations, and sustainability planning. With an operations research background, he applies both quantitative and qualitative analyses to projects in a variety of industries including airports, government agencies, transportation, and tourism. His work encompasses border facilitation, new concept development, transportation security, and carbon footprints/quantification.
Stanley holds a Master of Science in Operations Research from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor Arts in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario. Based in Vancouver, he is also certified by CSA Standards and ECO Canada as a Greenhouse Gas Inventory Quantifier.
Senior Vice President
Leveraging his three decades of Washington experience, Steve helps clients get their voices heard before the Congress, Department of Transportation, FAA, Transportation Security Administration, Customs and Border Protection, and other federal agencies. He works on regulatory analysis (e.g., overflight fees and passenger rights), economic impact studies, economic development projects, and economic modeling.
Steve specializes in small community issues. He was principal investigator for a Transportation Research Board (TRB) study on air service at small communities and assists communities in developing and implementing regional economic strategies.
Steve has a Master’s degree from Duke University.
Tamas brings a wide range of airport and air traffic control research experience to airline and airport clients that include airspace and runway capacity analyses, airfield simulation and modeling, and terminal planning. He also assists clients in various curbside operations and ground transportation projects.
Tamas holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Air Transportation Systems from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Florida. He is also a glider pilot and an internationally published aviation photographer.
Vice President, Smart Technologies and Innovation
William is an experienced Technology and Infrastructure specialist in the built environment and has experience in Transport Planning, Engineering Geology, Information and Communication Technology, Project and Facilities Management as well as Executive Leadership.
He has 35 years of experience managing Information systems, their development, implementation as well as operational management. Design of ICT and building architectures which also includes space planning, conceptual and detail design, data centre design, BIM design.
Leadership in the identification and fit out of new and existing office buildings and facilities including specialist buildings offering solutions that deliver environmental sustainability, leading technological solutions in the Smart and Healthy environment.
