Kaleab joined InterVISTAS during his final year of graduate studies at The University of British Columbia where he earned a PhD in Civil Engineering (specializing in Transportation Engineering). His interest focuses on air passenger leakage, and implications of long-distance airport choices on aviation emissions and price-based environmental policies. His approaches mainly include discrete choice modelling, Breguet Range-based aviation fuel and emissions modelling, and air demand-and-supply feedback analysis. During his graduate studies, Kaleab published papers on peer reviewed journals such as Transportation Research Record, Transportation Research Part D and others.
