InterVISTAS supported the IFC’s effort in the privatization of Air Botswana through the development of a compelling proposition for a strategic investor and operator.
InterVISTAS completed a financial and technical diagnostic assessment of the airline’s value, provided fleet planning and rationalization. Forecasts of demand for air services were developed, financial analyses performed and the execution of sale of airline was supported. The effect of aviation policy was analyzed, including regulations and bilateral agreements. A set of modifications were developed for the Botswana Air Transport Policy and an array of relevant analyses of the airline’s operating, financial and strategic profile were provided. Market trends and competition was reviewed and a new legislative and regulatory regime for aviation sector was recommended. Information for the Information memorandum was prepared.
InterVISTAS suggested a short-term adjustment in Botswana’s charges to bring them more into line with those of its neighbors, and suggested a series of steps to be taken in connection with establishing a basis for further cost recovery.
