Odebrecht Transport Commercial Revenue Benchmarking

The Challenge

In preparation for São Paulo area airports concession bid, Odebrecht Transport needed to understand the potential for commercial revenues at the airports.

Our Role

InterVISTAS examined the São Paulo market as well as air service at Guarulhos International Airport (“GRU”) and Viracopos Airport (“VCP”) to develop peer group airports for each. Passenger spend on commercial goods and services as well as contract terms between airport operators and concessionaires were researched to develop the range of revenue generation for terminal concessions, automobile parking, advertizing, car rental and other commercial activities. Peer group airports were drawn from North and South America as well as Europe.

Results

InterVISTAS provided a study that documented the benchmarking results, recommended the most appropriate benchmarks to use in the São Paulo market, and documented the commercial terms that would need to be achieved to realize best-in-class results.
