530 acres of land adjacent to Leduc and Edmonton International Airport is exposed to extensive noise pollution. For long range planning purposes, a traffic, noise compatible land use analysis was required to guide future land developments.
InterVISTAS completed a review of traffic impacts, and air, road and ground based noise for the year-2060 scenario. A compatible land use concept and its aerotropolis land uses were crafted through several stakeholder inputs at four workshops.
The AILUCP was delivered to Leduc and passed by Council unanimously. The compatible land uses and recommendations drafted in the plan will guide future developments and spur aerotropolis projects for Leduc and the Edmonton Region.
