Copa Airlines operates one of the fastest growing networks in Latin America with a large share of traffic connecting through it’s Panama hub. Effective revenue management that addresses the network inventory control challenges in a complex environment of traditional and low cost competition was essential to the carriers success. In today’s world of evolving revenue management sophistication and increasingly varied forecasting and optimization methods, Copa need direction defining and evaluating the specific tools appropriate to their commercial paradigm.
InterVISTAS led the definition of the carrier’s revenue management requirements and priorities and provided critical assistance evaluating the potential benefits and costs of various strategic inventory control alternatives.
The airline was able to appropriately evaluate the benefit and full functionality of the dominant commercially available revenue management systems to select an approach the most effectively addressed their complex competitive environment.
