Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated a review and revision of its strategic plan for its trusted traveller programs and automated border clearance. In both cases, the majority of primary processing for border clearance is performed via self-service kiosks.
InterVISTAS developed a strategy and vision to advance CBSA’s trusted traveller programs (Nexus and CANPASS) and automated border clearance deployment for Canada’s international airports. The study considered the role of self-service kiosks and specialty programs as a part of the international arrivals and connections processes.
The final report was used as a road map for the government’s trusted traveller programs. The study also presented possible short, medium, and long-term visions for the international arrivals hall. The final results of the project provide a view for balancing expedited border processes, resources, technology, and facilities.
