The North Fraser Port Authority, Vancouver Port Authority and the Fraser River Port Authority amalgamated into one as a collaborative efforts to become a single representative gateway for global trade. In this process, a baseline economic impact was required to measure the synergies driven from the amalgamated ports.
InterVISTAS was commissioned by Port Metro Vancouver to conduct an economic impact study based on 2007 Port operations for the integrated port system in Metro Vancouver.
InterVISTAS completed a comprehensive economic impact study for the amalgamated ports and determined its local and regional economic impact. Moreover, the study revealed that Port Metro activities had a wide array of economic impacts, extending to the Prairies and the rest of Canada.
