Planning and Design Considerations for International Arrivals Facilities

International traffic is the leading source of growth to the United States.  In July 2024, outbound travel from the United States was 18.3% greater than July 2019.  There’s also significant strength in the resurgence of tourism to the U.S.

How will we welcome people and bags to the United States in future?  The Program on Applied Research in Aviation Security (PARAS) asked the same question and InterVISTAS’ work is featured.  PARAS 0052 Planning and Design Considerations for International Arrivals Facilities is available on the website: https://www.sskies.org/paras/reports/.

Explore key aspects of developing international arrival facilities, ensuring they meet the needs of passengers, airports, airlines and US Customs and Border Protection.  What will be needed for airports if clearance can be done through a smartphone equipped with facial recognition?  Find out more about how to make the planning  and design future-proof and conducive to border security requirements for decades to come.
