What You Will Do

InterVISTAS is seeking highly a motivated and passionate Airport Traffic Engineering Consultant to join our growing aviation consultancy.  The responsibilities of the consultant would be to lead technical studies and analyses related to traffic engineering, transportation and transit planning, parking facility planning, and transportation operations for major airports.  Specific assignments may include quantitative and qualitative analysis of demands and capacities of airport roadways, on-airport intersections, terminal curbsides, airport parking facilities, airport rental car facilities, and airport-related transit systems.  Other efforts may include policy studies related to ground transportation providers such as Uber and Lyft; preparing conceptual plans for rental car, roadway, and parking facilities using AutoCAD; research projects; and VISSIM traffic modeling.

What We Are Looking For

required

  • Five (5) years of experience in traffic engineering, with a minimum of two (2) years in private industry
  • Experience leading traffic engineering studies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (quantitative and qualitative) with the ability to conduct thorough data analysis and provide sound interpretations
  • Strong communication and writing skills with the ability to convey complex issues to non-technical audiences
  • Willingness to travel and work as part of an integrated airport planning team
  • Ability to visualize and develop concepts in two and three dimensions
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering, traffic engineering, industrial/operations engineering, or related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and traffic engineering software, such as VISSIM and Synchro
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external clients
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn, and resourceful as well as collaborative and team-oriented

Desired, but not required to apply

  • Familiarity and experience with traffic and/or parking analyses at airports
  • Interest and knowledge of airports and their operations
  • Ability and interest to develop and mentor junior colleagues
  • Ability to contribute/lead business development activities
