What You Will Do
We are seeking a Manager, to support our efforts in creating inclusive, accessible, and equitable solutions in the transportation and tourism sectors. This role will focus on driving initiatives that improve accessibility for all, ensuring that our projects align with the principles of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA). As a leader, you will manage projects that enhance accessibility, foster innovation, and influence policy, making a tangible difference for communities worldwide.
The Role
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of accessibility-focused projects, ensuring they meet client specifications, deadlines, and budgets.
- Advocate for accessibility in all projects, embedding inclusive design principles into strategies and deliverables.
- Mentor and guide a team of consultants and analysts, promoting professional growth and knowledge in accessibility best practices.
- Collaborate with major clients, serving as a primary point of contact to manage relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure satisfaction with accessibility outcomes.
- Allocate resources effectively, optimizing project success while ensuring accessibility considerations remain central to decision-making.
- Uphold high standards of quality and implement quality control processes across accessibility deliverables.
- Stay informed about accessibility standards, regulations, and industry trends to maintain competitive positioning and inform strategic decisions.
- Promote innovation by introducing and adopting new accessibility methods, tools, and technologies.
- Prepare and present comprehensive accessibility reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders.
What We Are Looking For
- Master’s degree in transportation, urban planning, accessibility studies, or a related field, with 5+ years of related experience in areas such as accessibility planning, universal design, and transportation policy. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and written communication skills are a must.
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards, such as ADA and WCAG, and their application in transportation and tourism projects.
- Exceptional report writing and presentation abilities, with the capability to communicate complex accessibility insights effectively.
- Proven project management and organizational skills, with experience managing multiple, concurrent projects focused on accessibility outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and foster collaboration around accessibility initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with experience advocating for accessibility in policy and project design.
