As commercial air service at Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) increased, Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) wanted to move business and executive aviation activity from AUH to Al Bateen Airport. ADAC needed advisory services to evaluate the feasibility and viability of converting Al Bateen airport from military to business aviation use.
InterVISTAS served as the primary strategic and tactical advisor to ADAC in their efforts to redevelop Al Bateen Airport for business aviation activity. Advisory services spanned from financial and operational planning to sales and marketing. In effect, InterVISTAS served as ADAC’s “General Manager” throughout the strategy and initial implementation phases of arguably the world’s most high-profile business aviation strategy project then underway by evaluating different business models for Al Bateen.
Al Bateen has now begun operations, and is the first new airport dedicated to business aviation activity in the Arabian Gulf region. ADAC and its business partners in the finance and operation of Al Bateen are meeting or exceeding operational and financial projections for the airport.
